You probably know that the Philadelphia Eagles have a long history in the NFL. They are a team that has had a lot of success and the fans of the Eagles have always been very vocal. When it comes to determining the top Philadelphia Eagles players of all-time, it’s tough to narrow things down. Even so, you should read on to take a glance at the greatest players to ever take the field for the Philadelphia Eagles. 

Steve Van Buren

Steve Van Buren might not be a recognizable name to modern Eagles fans, but this player was absolutely one of the most important Eagles of all-time. He was the number one overall pick back in 1944 for a reason. He won two NFL championship games with the Eagles in 1948 and 1949. During his career, he rushed for 5,860 yards and scored 464 points with 69 touchdowns recorded. 

Reggie White

Reggie White has earned his spot in the history of the NFL as one of the best defensive players ever. As a Philadelphia Eagle, White won defensive player of the year several times. He finished his career with 198 sacks which is the second-best in the all-time record books. White also has 1,048 solo tackles, 33 forced fumbles, and 20 fumble recoveries to his name. 

Chuck Bednarik

Chuck Bednarik was a nine-time all-pro as a Philadelphia Eagle and he also earned eight Pro Bowl nods as a center and a linebacker. He was a true iron man of the football field and only missed three games during his 14 years of play. He has 20 interceptions in his career and was named the best center of all-time in 1969 for the NFL’s 50th anniversary. 

Tommy McDonald

Tommy McDonald was known as the best wide receiver of his era. He caught 495 passes for 8,410 yards. McDonald recorded 84 touchdowns during his time in the league and was truly a dynamic offensive threat on the football field. He was selected for the Pro Bowl six times in his career. 

Brian Dawkins

Brian Dawkins had a 16-year NFL career and is one of the most dynamic defenders of all-time. He finished his career with 26 sacks, 1,131 tackles, 37 interceptions, 36 forced fumbles, and 19 fumble recoveries. He earned a spot in the Pro Bowl nine times and also holds the Eagles’ franchise record for forced fumbles.
