About Hommy Almonte

Hommy Almonte is a business professional, philanthropist, and active community member who resides in White Plains, New York. He currently works as an Immuno-Oncology Field Sales Trainer for Bristol-Myers Squibb.

In 2002, Hommy Almonte earned his BA in economics with a minor in communications from Rutgers College. Later, Hommy returned to higher education and earned his MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management.

Hommy Almonte started his work with Bristol-Myers Squibb as a Territory Business Manager in 2011. His focus in this role was on Virology, specifically HIV. During his two years in this position, Hommy developed, marketed, and grew Bristol-Myers Squibb’s HIV portfolio across the South Bronx territory. This included calling on private practitioners, institutional accounts, and pharmacies and creating promotional programs to identify and coordinate speakers and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

In 2014, Hommy Almonte was promoted to Assistant Product Manager of Virology. In this role, Hommy led promotional education launch strategy for HCV which included engagement with key KOLs for insights on content creation for promotional education tactics. In addition, he developed and facilitated KOL speaker training for both HIV and HCV franchises. Hommy personally developed and rolled out an HCV promotional launch strategy that included one-on-one peer interactions, lunch learns, and dinner programs.  As a result of his efforts, within the first three months of launch, the U.S. team exceeded their franchise sales goal by 25 percent.

After this success, Hommy Almonte was promoted to HCV Operations Lead of Worldwide Commercialization. As HCV Operations Lead, Hommy was the HQ liaison between HCV brand teams in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. This position included managing the global HCV budget of $15M. Additionally, Hommy worked as the global lead for the European Association of the Study of the Liver (ESAL) and the Asian Pacific Association for the study of the Liver (APASL). 

Next, from 2017 to 2018, Hommy Almonte worked as the Immuno-Oncology Specialist in Westchester, New York.  During this period, Hommy worked to develop and implement robust business plans that included institutions, community-based practitioners, and KOLs to effectively execute sales targets. 

Most recently, Hommy Almonte was honored with a promotion to the Northeast Field Sales Trainer of US Oncology. In this position, Hommy works as a sales leader. His focus is on training and developing current as well as newly hired sales professionals, including district managers, in selling skills, business analytics, and disease knowledge. He also partners with internal stakeholders such as Marketing, Medical, Market Access, HQ Learning and Development, and Market Research to effectively execute US Oncology’s strategic imperatives. 

When Hommy Almonte isn’t working, he enjoys playing sports. He is especially fond of golf, specifically traveling to play golf. Hommy Almonte also spends time contributing to his community. Hommy is part of a three-person team for UNderdogstuff, an organization that creates access to content and investment opportunities to help “underdogs” achieve wealth and overall wellbeing. He has also worked with the Hearts With Haiti school as part of a larger group to raise money for underprivileged populations in Haiti. He has even traveled to Haiti to assist with the construction of a new library. He has also participated in a coast to coast company-sponsored bike ride to raise cancer awareness.
